The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) plans to hold an ASEAN-US summit in the near future, during which they want to discuss US President Donald Trump's intention to impose 25% tariffs on cars,on the import of semiconductors and other products. This was announced by Malaysian Foreign Minister Muhammad Hassan.
"ASEAN plans to hold a special ASEAN-US summit immediately to discuss this issue with the new US administration," Bernama quoted him as saying.how to present the points of view of the countries of the GAP, so that the proposed customs duties do not become a burden on us," he added.
Earlier, Trump announced that the US intends to impose tariffs of about 25% on foreign cars, and similar tariffs will be imposed on pharmaceutical products.
