The DPRK is closely monitoring the appearance of US strategic forces on the Korean Peninsula and is ready to counter provocative actions using all available means, a North Korean defense ministry spokesman said in a statement.
“Our armed forces are closely monitoring the frequent appearance of US strategic forces on the Korean Peninsula and are ready to use any means necessary to protect the country’s security interests and regional peace,” the statement said.
The DPRK defense ministry added that Pyongyang was ready to deter the United States and that Washington should stop further provocations. The statement coincided with the arrival of the US nuclear-powered submarine Alexandria in the South Korean port of Busan.
