"Arik" appeared on the Armenian-Azerbaijani line of contact. A story of a statue

"Arik" or "Mother Armenia" statue is located in Aygehovit village station in Tavush region, on a direct Armenian-Azerbaijani state border. Sculptor Adibek Grigoryan created this statue in 1976. During the Soviet era, the statue was erected here when Azeris had placed a monument symbolizing the three countries in the same area, where Azerbaijan depicted the ruling country in the ruling position. In response, the local government decided in the 1970s to install the "Arik" statue in a place where it would be visible from the nearby settlements of Azerbaijan.

It is impossible to approach "Arik" for all guests visiting Armenia on time, as it is between the base of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the area is completely mined.

17 meters high, the statue made of aluminum symbolizes the image of the Armenian woman, a hospitable mother. The circle of the statue is similar to the glare of the sun, which is probably the statue of the statue. The sculptor wanted to show that people come to Arshahat country with a hospitable people.

2014 On September 29, the scope of the statue was turned in a strong wind.

It is noteworthy that Adibek Grigoryan's work is not included in the list of realistic monuments of history and culture of Armenia.
