Former Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian called on American-Armenians, do not meet Nikol Pashinyan legitimacy.
"Distinguished representatives of the American-Armenian community and organizations, I turn to you, on February 3 in connection with the invitation of Nikol Pashinyan. This meeting is not just a diplomatic protocol. It is a calculated attempt to save the leadership, which needs your audience. I urge you not to participate in the meeting and not to become part of his desperate move.
Pashinyan is a failed leader, during which the Armenian people are passing through the worst period of his modern history.
Armenia has suffered heavy territorial losses, military defeat and has won national humiliation. The full decline of Artsakh, the deportation of 150,000 Armenians and the death of thousands of young soldiers are the direct consequences of its reckless, unable and short-sighted policy.
Pashinyan is the main and only obstacle to the incorporation of the right to the return of the people of Artsakh to the international agenda, despite the clear readiness of the world community, to address and support this fundamental right. Today, Armenian captives remain in the Azerbaijani captivity, some of Armenia's sovereign territories are occupied, and new concessions are expected ahead. All this under his responsibility.
His government's actions have undermined Armenia's security, dignity and position in the world. The continuation of his power is a direct threat to the survival of the Armenian nation.
The Armenian people have already made its decision on Pashinyan. According to the latest polls, only 10% of Armenians support him.
The leader with such a low support management, not legitimacy and competence, but with fear and misinformation, has no right to speak on behalf of the Armenian people. His presence at the Armenian Embassy in Washington is insulting towards the Diaspora, which remained faithful to the commitment of the Armenian nation and dignity.
Pashinyan's government is not based on democratic law, other systemic corruption and institutional decay.
Democracy in Armenia's former hope has become the sole management, where the occupied judiciary, the restrained press and the weakened civil society only serve the responsibility of its government. On the eve of Washington's departure, Pashinyan began prosecuting an Armenian just because he had published a video about the humiliating actions of the Azeris group in the Republic Square of the Republic of Yerevan, calling public and official attention.
His government has approved a corruption culture, directing the public's pockets to the pockets of the loyalists, to the citizens of frustration and poverty. At the same time, political polarization and distrust have split the Armenian society, making it almost impossible to consolidate and united actions.
These are not the qualities of their own people who work for their own people, but a possible opportunity to protect power at any cost.
The most unique act of Pashinyan's tenure is perhaps his latest folks about the Armenian Genocide. The distortion of the greatest tragedy of our history by the Armenian leader is nothing but treachery.
This is an astonishing thing to worry about every Armenian, especially in the Diaspora. If he is ready to rewrite history in accordance with his political interests, whatever he is not ready. If you decide to participate in that meeting, illustrate who sits before you.
It is a man who took Armenia to the destruction, which he handed over the Armenian lands, which left his own people and who lost the trust of the majority of Armenians.
Don't let you be fooled. Challenge him. Require answers. Bring him responsibility. This is not just a political moment, this is a conscience exam. Going against Pashinyan means to stand next to Armenia's dignity, security and future. "
