The South Korean president spent the night in a 10-meter solitary confinement cell

On the night of January 16, South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol was kept in a 10-meter-wide room reserved for suspects awaiting a decision on whether to extend their detention. This is reported by the MBC TV channel.

Yoon Seok Yeol was transferred to the Seoul Pretrial Detention Center at around 10:00 PM on January 15. The president was kept separately from the other detainees, so it was effectively a solitary confinement cell, according to the TV channel. The room had a desk, a separate toilet, bedding and a TV.

According to YTN, Yoon Seok Yeol was left in plain clothes and the area was under 24-hour video surveillance. Breakfast included cereal, milk, boiled eggs and oatmeal.

"It is not known whether he ate it or not," the newspaper writes.
