The goal is to "...in the shortest possible time to carry out work in the direction of all schools operating under the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports", as well as "to hand over the corresponding substantive management of schools to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, and the economic part to regional governorates" direction".
in 2024 Currently, public educational institutions in the Republic of Armenia operate under different subordination, the main principle of which is the educational level and the geographical distribution of the institutions.
In particular, 1st and 2nd level educational institutions in ten marzes (313 primary schools), as well as secondary schools in rural areas (745 1st-12th grades) operate under the staff of regional governorates, in Yerevan educational 1st and 2nd 3rd level institutions (140 primary, 13 secondary schools) operate under Yerevan Municipality, 3rd level educational institutions - 98 senior school, 10 colleges, 12 secondary schools, 3 basic schools operate under the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.
It is noted that the change in the subordination of schools will significantly increase the volume of work for KGSMN.
Instead of the currently coordinated 123 state general education, 14 specialized and special schools, the work of 1343 schools will be coordinated.
As a result of the Law "On Public Education" and related legislative amendments, the need for additional financial resources will arise with the adoption of the projects. A change is planned in the revenues and expenses of the state budget.
In particular, as a result of the addition of about 30 new positions in the staff of the Ministry of Education and Culture, according to preliminary calculations, about 32 million 860 thousand drams will be required for the necessary property and equipment (one-time expenses), and the ongoing annual expenditure will be about 145 million 590 thousand drams.
