The fifth president of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, has confirmed that she will attend Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony in Washington on January 20.
"I will have high-level meetings there," Zurabishvili announced during the press conference held in his new office.
Zurabishvili was invited to the inauguration of the new US president by Republican Congressman Joe Wilson on December 27, two days before the inauguration of Mikheil Kavelashvili as the sixth president of Georgia.
Kavelashvili has not received any invitation so far.
"Georgian Dream" has previously announced that Zurabishvili's visit to the US will be private and does not indicate that the Trump administration considers Zurabishvili a legitimate representative of the government. Moreover, the ruling party hinted that Zurabishvili's invitation was bought through American lobbyists. the former president responded that there are different versions of the invitation to the inauguration, for which no one has money does not pay.
