On December 31, at 6:45 p.m., the crisis management center of the Gegharkunik Regional Rescue Department received an alert that a car was on fire on the Gavar-Karmirgyugh highway.
One combat unit from the fire-rescue squad of the Regional Rescue Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs went to the scene.
It was found that "Toyota" (driver: A.M.) and "Mercedes-Benz" (driver: S.G., born in 1987) cars collided near the 1st km of the Gavar-Karmirgyugh highway. A fire broke out in a "Toyota" car.
The driver of the "Mercedes-Benz" car was taken to the medical center before the rescuers arrived.
The fire was isolated at 19:02 and extinguished at 19:05. Electrical cables were burned in the engine compartment of the Toyota car.
The rescuers cut off the power to the cars and closed the valves of the gas cylinders.
