11 thousand 412 people displaced from Artsakh left Armenia and did not return

"Armlur" asked the head of the National Security Service, Armen Abazyan, with the following questions:

1. How many people were forcibly displaced from Artsakh?
2. How many of the forcibly displaced left Armenia without return?
3. How many of the forcibly displaced are now in Armenia?

In response, we received the following reply.

"According to the data provided by the RA Migration and Civil Service, in September 2023, 115 thousand 86 people were forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh, of which 11 thousand 412 people, including 18, left RA by December 2024 and did not return to RA, and 103 thousand 674 person are currently in the Republic of Armenia," the NSS said in response to the inquiry in the answer.
It should be reminded that the status of temporary protection of persons forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh in RA has been extended for another year, until December 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension. This was announced by the Department of Public Communication and Information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In other words, the refugee status of those displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh has been extended for another year.

It is noted that the documentation process has been simplified. "Temporary protection certificate will no longer be required to enter RA, it is enough to have a passport with the code "070". Meanwhile, in order to leave RA, the displaced person must have a valid temporary protection certificate and a valid passport. Accordingly, we urge you to immediately deal with updating the validity dates of the above-mentioned documents in the case of planning a border crossing in the direction of the exit in the coming months, because at the end of the year, in fact, the number of applications will be large, and accumulations are possible."
