223 million 513 thousand drams (about 560 thousand US dollars) of damage caused to the state were recovered as a result of the application of the prosecutor's act in the criminal proceedings under the supervision of the Department of Crimes Against the Economic Activity of the General Prosecutor's Office.
It is announced by the General Prosecutor's Office.
According to the department's report, criminal proceedings were not initiated in the Investigative Committee on August 28, 2024 in connection with the report received from the State Revenue Committee regarding non-payment of taxes, duties or other fees by the company engaged in the production of alcoholic beverages.
The legality of not initiating criminal proceedings was not confirmed by the prosecutor, and on August 30, 2024, it was ordered to initiate criminal proceedings and start a preliminary investigation for non-payment of particularly large taxes, duties or other fees.
As a result, 223 million 513 thousand drams were restored to the state budget of the Republic of Armenia by the director of the company within the framework of the initiated criminal proceedings.
