A new project in Armenia proposes to reduce working hours while maintaining salaries


The proposed amendments to the Labor Code of Armenia and the Law on "Minimum Monthly Wage" envisage reducing the length of working hours while maintaining the amount of wages.of "Armenpress".according to the report, the draft was published on the unified platform of draft legal acts e-draft.

The number of working hours per day is planned to be reduced from 8 hours to 7 hours, the number of working hours per week from 40 hours to 35 hours, the changes will not lead to a reduction in wages, and the minimum wage will be revised in line with the new working hours.

These changes aim to improve work-life balance by creating opportunities for employees to devote more time to family, leisure and self-development, reduce stress and health problems, especially cardiovascular diseases and mental stress, increase work efficiency and productivity, as shown by international experience and studies, contribute to the creation of new jobs, both in the public and private sectors.
