From the economic adventures of the great national philanthropist Nikol Pashinyan. Levon Zurabyan

ANC Vice-Chairman Levon Zurabyan considers Nikol Pashinyan's recent statement that "it is impossible for any family to spend more than the state budget" to be a deception miles away from economics.

He made a Facebook post with the title "From the economic adventures of the great national philanthropist Nikol Pashinyan".

"No family in the Republic of Armenia spends as much money for its needs as is spent for the needs of that same family from the state budget."

This idea was expressed very solemnly, in a special Facebook status, not by Gevorik of ANM, but by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, the head of the country, Nikol Pashinyan, therefore, it is not possible to bypass it just like that.

Only this post is enough for us to understand what cosmic level of ignorance and meanness we are dealing with in the face of our "leader". It is clear, isn't it, what he wants to say? his brilliant government does more for our families than we do for ourselves, so we must be eternally grateful to such a generous "honor".

Let's put aside the simple truth that the state budget is formed from the money earned by the families/citizens of the Republic of Armenia, that is, whatever the government spends for the needs of our families, it received those money from our families.

Let's also accept for a moment that any expenditure from the state budget, be it the financing of foreign business trips of state officials or the maintenance of their "padawats", is also made for the needs of our families.

Anyway, anyone with a basic knowledge of macroeconomics knows the following most basic formula: GDP = Government/State Budget/ Expenditure + Consumption + Aggregate Savings/Investment + Balance of Exports and Imports.

Since according to the data of 2023, the GDP is equal to 9.5 trillion drams, the gross accumulation is equal to 2 trillion drams, and the export and import balance is equal to -0.06 trillion drams, then we get that the total expenditure of all of us for the needs of ourselves and our families is is approximately 7 trillion drams, which is 2.8 times higher than the total expenditure of 2.5 trillion drams of the state budget.

In other words, even if we accept for a moment Pashinyan's distorted and immoral logic, according to which the government's spending is charity in order to meet the needs of our families, what he said is still a big deception, miles away from economics.

We have a leader who speaks this language, understands the economy and wants our best."
