Michael Kurila, head of the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTOM), during his visit to Israel, discussed regional security issues, including Syria, with the country's military leadership, CENTOM said.
According to the report, a number of regional security issues were discussed, including the situation in Syria, and readiness for other strategic and regional threats. In addition to the talks with the Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces, Herzi Halevi, Kurila also met with the Defense Minister of Israel Katz, the head of the Northern Command, Ori Gordin, and the commander of the Air Force, Tomar Bari.
The head of CENTCOM gave a deeper insight into the situation in Lebanon and the ongoing efforts to end hostilities between Israel and Lebanon at the headquarters of the Northern Command.
"My visit to Israel, as well as Jordan, Syria, Iraq and Lebanon, reaffirmed the importance of getting to know the current challenges and opportunities on the ground. We must maintain strong partnership relations to face current and future threats in the region," Kurila emphasized.
