German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has assured that Europe will support Syria and its reconstruction.
"It is also important that Syria preserves its sovereignty and territorial integrity as a state," he said in a video message published on X. We will work on this basis with the new leadership, and Europe will also help in the restoration.
At the same time, he repeated that hundreds of thousands of Syrians now live in Germany.
"Some refugees expect that they will soon be able to return to their homeland, and we will support this as soon as the situation allows," emphasized Scholz.
According to him, those people who have successfully integrated into the society can stay safely in Germany.
