French President Emmanuel Macron called on all political forces of Georgia to dialogue in order to settle the situation.
"We are by your side to support your European and democratic aspirations. Georgia cannot hope to move on the European path if peaceful demonstrations are suppressed by the disproportionate use of force. I want to believe that there is a path in line with the country's European aspirations, a path of polite dialogue between all political forces and civil society organizations. All Georgians are responsible for this dialogue." Macron said in his video message.
He added that the European Union does not impose, Europe offers, does not intimidate, does not use threats, does not strive for destruction.
"Europe does not seek to destabilize or subjugate its neighbors through war or hybrid threats. The European Union respects the sovereign will of peoples, the history and identity of nations. The European Union does not dictate what national interests are, the European Union respects territorial integrity," the French president concluded.
