Russia agreed to exchange prisoners with Ukraine for Christmas, but Kiev refused, but there is still hope for that. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced this while speaking on the morning program of the Kosut radio station.
He reminded that on December 11, he discussed the possibility of a "Christmas truce" and a large-scale exchange of prisoners between Russia and Ukraine by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Hungary presented its initiative to Ukraine through diplomatic channels, but Vladimir Zelensky rejected the proposal. On the same day, Orban publicly expressed his disappointment in this regard.
"One side agreed, the other, apparently, refused, but the possibility still remains," said the head of the Hungarian government during a radio program.
He noted that the exchange of mass prisoners between the conflicting parties "can make hundreds or thousands of people happy".
