"In 2023, the CP announced that they gained real independence in 2023, that is, we sacrificed Artsakh, we got the security and protection of the internationally recognized borders of the Republic of Armenia," Levon Zurabyan, vice-chairman of the ANC party, told the press conference.
According to him, in 2024 they realized that all those promises were actually a deception because we did not get any security and protection.
Zurabyan reminded that the deal signed with Azerbaijan on December 7 last year, by which Baku returned part of the captives, and in return, RA agreed to host COP29 in Azerbaijan.
And at that time it was considered a big deal.
"In fact, we got the exact opposite in 2024, a year of creeping war. We saw that they beat us, we stand up, and that process does not lead anywhere.
The promised peace is not there, diplomacy has failed, the COP took place, but nothing happened for us: the return of prisoners, the return of Artsakh leaders.
In other words, 2024 was the year of failure of Pashinyan's prospects," he said.
