When will the negotiations on Ukraine start?

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who will take over the presidency of the European Union from January 1, 2025, has announced that it is possible that the negotiations on the issue of Ukraine will begin this winter.

"We will also be responsible for what the calendar of political events will be, for the situation during the negotiations, which, although still uncertain, may begin in the winter of this year," he said.

Tusk noted that French President Emmanuel Macron will arrive in Warsaw on December 12 and inform about his negotiations with the newly elected US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to Tusk, he is constantly in contact with partners from the Baltic and Scandinavian countries.

After the meeting with Macron and Zelensky in Paris, Trump announced the need to hurry to resolve the Ukrainian conflict.

"The time has come to act. Zelensky and Ukraine would like to make a deal," he wrote on Truth Social.
