A record 9.5 tons of cocaine was seized in the Dominican Republic


In the Dominican Republic, law enforcement officers seized the largest shipment of 9.5 tons of cocaine in the history of the region, reports the National Narcotics Control Directorate.

"This is the 9.5 tons of suspected drugs seized in Caucedo. This is the largest seizure of cocaine ever recorded in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean region, which shows the government's determination to continue to deal serious blows to the criminal networks that try to use the territory of the Dominican Republic. for their illegal activities," said Directorate X's blog.

Carlos Devers, the representative of the service, told the local media that a container with cargo of cocaine from Guatemala was found in the port of Caucedo. Until now, unknown persons tried to load the illegal cargo there on a ship bound for Belgium.
