Iran's Foreign Ministry called on Ukraine to stop supporting terrorists in Syria

Iran's Foreign Ministry called on Ukraine to stop supporting terrorist groups in Syria, calling Kiev's actions a clear violation of international obligations to fight terrorism. This is stated in the statement of the department, which is posted on the telegram channel of the Government of the Islamic Republic.

"Assistant Minister and head of the Eurasia Department, Mojtaba Damirchilu, pointing to some reports of illegal arms trafficking by some Ukrainian officials and Ukraine's support for terrorist groups in Syria, called these actions a clear violation of the countries," the document states.

Ukraine's actions aimed at destabilizing the Middle East region contradict all international principles and are an "immoral policy", the assistant of the Iranian foreign minister emphasized.

"Experience shows that an alliance with terrorism always threatens global security and contributes to the spread of violence in the world," Damircilu added.

Earlier, the press office of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service reported that the intelligence services of a number of NATO countries and Ukraine are preparing to use chemical weapons by the Syrian army and the Russian military contingent in Syria in order to discredit Damascus and Moscow.

On December 4, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said in a briefing that the escalation in Syria clearly has a "Ukrainian trace".
