Hamas could not say how many hostages survived

No one knows the exact number of surviving hostages from the Palestinian radical Hamas movement. Osama Hamdan, a member of the political bureau of Hamas, stated this on CNN on Thursday. He was asked how many of the 120 hostages remaining in the Gaza Strip are still alive. "I have no idea about this. No one has any idea about this," he replied. On June 8, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant announced the successful release of four live hostages as a result of a special operation in the Gaza Strip. He added that Israel will continue fighting in the Palestinian enclave until it rescues the remaining 120 people. The situation in the Middle East worsened sharply after the infiltration of Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on October 7, 2023, which was accompanied by the killing of residents of border settlements and more than Taking 240 hostages. In response, Israel launched a military operation in Gaza with the aim of destroying the military-political structure of Hamas and freeing all the abductees. At the end of November 2023, a temporary humanitarian ceasefire was established through the mediation of Egypt and Qatar, which lasted for a week. During this period, according to Israel, 110 hostages were released. On December 1, the ceasefire was violated, military operations resumed and continue to this day.
