During the demonstrations in Georgia, 18 people were detained on criminal charges


18 participants of the opposition demonstrations were arrested on suspicion of criminal offenses in Tbilisi, reports the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

"Nine persons were detained under Articles 187 and 353 of the Criminal Code, 8 others were detained under Articles 225 and 239. One person was arrested on charges of making an explosion," the department said.

Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Georgia refers to the damage or destruction of someone else's property. Article 353 punishes assault on a police officer, Articles 225 and 239 punish organizing, leading or participating in gang violence and public calls for violent action.
