Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced in the National Assembly that he personally did not consider it appropriate to hold the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Armenia.
"I want to say directly that I personally considered it inappropriate to hold the event in Armenia because, unfortunately, due to the circumstances known to you, not all members of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council are desirable for the Republic of Armenia," said Pashinyan.
Referring to the question of MP Anna Grigoryan regarding the connection between the ratification of the Rome Statute and the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin, he said:
"When we ratified the Rome Statute, we were in communication with our Russian partners. And we brought them our example with the USA.
We have a bilateral agreement with the US that emphasizes certain features in our relations with them within the framework of the Rome Statute.
We offered the same mechanism to Russia, but Russia did not agree to it for some reason."
