"Hraparak" newspaper writes:
"Yerevan Bus" CJSC was on strike since early yesterday morning, the bus drivers who declared a strike are demanding improvement of working conditions and salary increase.
We were told that the city authorities had previously promised to increase the salaries of the drivers after the launch of the unified ticketing system, but they did not fulfill the promise, and the former drivers who worked in the shadow traffic hope that they can achieve the goal with a consolidated strike, because the city government will do everything for the public. to prevent public discontent over transport from turning into riots.
However, the government took countermeasures, yesterday they fired some of them on the spot, trying to catch the fear of others and return them to work, but the issue was not resolved, some just returned, in the evening there were already news that the law enforcement officers "came out" on the drivers, and the government is in the grip of how many they have a community institution and a regional structure, they have instructed to send a driver to Yerevan to drive the buses today and the city will not be paralyzed."
