Iran calls for Israel to be expelled from UN after Syria strike

Iran's Foreign Ministry is calling for an arms embargo on Israel and the country's expulsion from the United Nations following the strike on Syria.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei said Tehran "strongly condemned the aggressive attack carried out today by the Zionist regime on a residential building" in the Damascus area. Baghai called for measures against Israel, including an arms embargo and the country's expulsion from the UN.

Earlier, the Syrian state news agency SANA reported “Israeli aggression” in the Sayyida Zainab area. An Israeli strike on a residential building killed seven civilians, including women and children. Another 20 people were injured, the Syrian Defense Ministry said.
