The Spanish authorities will execute the arrest warrant of the International Criminal Court against Netanyahu

Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albarez clarified that the country's authorities will execute the arrest warrant of the International Criminal Court against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he arrives in the kingdom.

"I don't like to do political fiction, but I said very clearly. The ICC has the Rome Statute, which implies a number of obligations, and we are going to fulfill all the obligations defined by the law. Our position is very clear. we will respect Spain's commitments," El País newspaper quotes the minister's words.

On November 21, the ICC announced that it had issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant from October 8, 2023, to May 20, 2024, for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Palestinian Territory.

As EU foreign policy spokesman Peter Stano stated earlier, all EU member states support the ICJ and must implement its decisions, including Netanyahu's arrest.
