Putin: the events in Nagorno-Karabakh had nothing to do with the CSTO

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the events in Nagorno-Karabakh had nothing to do with the CSTO.
He said this during a press conference following the CSTO summit in Astana. “There was no aggression against Armenia. The CSTO is designed to protect member countries from external aggression.

Events related to Nagorno-Karabakh have their own specifics, because Armenia did not recognize Karabakh as an independent state, and certainly did not include Karabakh in its state perimeter,” Putin noted. He also emphasized that from a legal point of view, the events in Nagorno-Karabakh were not directly related to Armenia. RT reports.
