During Kazakhstan's presidency, all the problems faced by CSTO have been solved. This was stated by the President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Zhomart Tokayev at the meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Astana, writes RIA Novosti.
"The CSTO is not just a military partnership. It is a unique mechanism that combines our efforts and resources to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our states.
As the chairman of the CSTO, Kazakhstan has focused its efforts on increasing the effectiveness of mechanisms for rapid response to countries and crisis situations based on strengthening close cooperation, as well as on developing the capabilities of our organization in the fight against modern threats, including terrorism, cyber-attacks, transnational crimes and drug trafficking. During the presidency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, these problems were solved," Tokayev said.
The head of Kazakhstan added that meetings of CSTO statutory bodies, military exercises and preventive actions were held as planned. Current issues of collective security were discussed substantively by the ministers of foreign affairs and defense, and during 2024 meetings were held at the level of secretaries of security councils and heads of parliaments.
