The Georgian "Coalition for Changes" party has given up the mandates

Georgia's opposition "Coalition for Changes" party, which won the second place in the October 26 elections, has submitted a statement to the parliament about renouncing the parliamentary mandates. This was reported by local TV channels.

"What we are doing today does not mean that we are giving up the representation of the people, the mandate to achieve changes, on the contrary, what we are doing today is the way to completely delegitimize the so-called parliament," he said.

The leaders of the Nika party informed the journalists about this by submitting a statement to the parliamentary office about relinquishing mandates. Representatives of other parties that received mandates as a result of the elections also submitted statements to the parliament.

Earlier, the "For Changes" coalition, as well as two other opposition parties, "Strong Georgia" and "Unity-National Movement" parties, submitted statements to the CEC to cancel their electoral lists. This means that the deputies who renounce their mandate cannot be replaced by the next people on the list.

As for the fourth opposition party that entered the parliament, "Gakharia for Georgia", it, like the other three, does not recognize the results of the elections, but does not announce its intention to give up the mandates.
