Iran has commissioned new advanced centrifuges for uranium enrichment, Majlis Chairman Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf announced on Sunday.
According to him, the authorities of Iran resorted to this step in response to the adoption of an anti-Iranian resolution at the recent meeting of the Board of Governors of the IAEA.
"Iran's response is based on the principle of reciprocity, because the IAEA Board of Governors was used for unfair political purposes," he said.
Ghalibaf called the approach of Great Britain, Germany, the United States and France "politicized and destructive".
The IAEA's Board of Governors passed a resolution earlier this week condemning Iran for failing to fully cooperate with the agency on the nuclear issue.
Diplomats said 19 Council members voted in favor of the resolution, while Russia, China and Burkina Faso were against, 12 abstained and one did not vote.
The resolution was put forward by France, Germany and Great Britain with the support of the USA.
The IAEA is said to have called on Iran to provide "technically credible explanations" for the presence of reprocessed uranium particles at the Varamin and Turkuzabad sites near Tehran on the location of nuclear material and provide access for IAEA inspectors to all Iranian nuclear facilities.
The resolution also requires IAEA Director General Raffaele Grossi to provide an updated assessment of Iran's nuclear program no later than spring 2025.
