Kim Jong Un said that the country cannot be sovereign without armed forces

The leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, has stated that the state that has given up self-defense cannot be considered sovereign. His words were quoted by Korea Centralnews agency.

"A truly sovereign country that has renounced military conflicts will face aggression and will certainly come under someone else's heel," Kim Jong-un said at the opening of an arms exhibition in Pyongyang.

According to the head of state affairs, only military force, which is capable of suppressing the enemy, provides guarantees of stability and development and remains the only way to protect peace.

Kim Jong Un added that the Workers' Party of Korea and the government will not ignore North Korea's security rights violations and will not allow the military balance to change.
