The ruling party of Georgia nominated Kobakhidze for the post of Prime Minister

Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder and honorary president of the ruling "Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia" party, nominated the current head of the government, Irakli Kobakhidze, for the post of prime minister. According to TASS, Mamuka Mdinaradze, the executive secretary of the party, said this in a briefing after the session of the political council of "Georgian Dream".

"According to the charter of our party, the honorary president has the rights and powers to nominate a candidate for the prime minister. This was fully supported by the political council," said Mdinaradze.

According to him, the current head of the legislative body, Shalva Papuashvili, will be the candidate for the speaker of the parliament.
