Unverified information has spread on the Internet that the Russian Federation may strike Ukraine using these missiles. What is known about the Russian RS-26 Rubezh missilereportsDefense Express

RS-26 "Rubezh" is a Russian project of a mobile ground-based strategic missile system with an intercontinental ballistic missile. It is a development of the Yars project (RS-24 Yars) with new guided warheads for breaking through missile defense.

The missile can be equipped with a thermonuclear warhead.

According to data from open sources:
launch weight - 40-50 tons;
flight range - up to 6000 km;
warhead - four separate blocks with a total capacity of 1.2 Mt. Arms race

The missile was expected to enter service in 2015, but in 2018 Rubezh was likely excluded from the weapons program until 2027, writes Defense Express.

At the same time, against the backdrop of the Kremlin’s threats to resume production of medium- and shorter-range missiles, there is a high probability of a return to production of the RS-26 Rubezh in 2024. Information also appeared on the Internet that a test launch is possible from the Kapustin Yar test site in the Astrakhan region. The distance from Kyiv to the Russian region is about 1300 km.
