Representatives of Georgia's opposition non-governmental organizations, together with supporters, are marching through the central avenues of Tbilisi on Friday, protesting the results of the parliamentary elections, in which the ruling Georgian Dream party won. The correspondent of "RIA Novosti" informs about the march from Tbilisi.
On Friday, the opposition gathered in the Republic Square near Rustaveli Avenue, after which they started a march. Earlier, the opposition parties had announced to start a series of protest actions, which, according to them, will take place every day in different places of the capital. The opposition demands, in particular, to recognize the voting results as invalid and call for new elections.
Parliamentary elections in Georgia took place on October 26. According to the data of the Central Electoral Commission, the ruling "Georgian Dream" party, which stands against maintaining relations with Russia and anti-Russian sanctions, received 53.93% of the votes. Four opposition parties also entered the parliament, receiving a total of 37.78%.
