Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz are planning to have a phone conversation on Friday, Bloomberg reports, citing its sources. This will be the first contact between the leaders after a break of almost two years.
The conversation will take place at a critical time for Ukraine, as the country prepares for its third winter under Russian attacks, with much of the country's energy infrastructure damaged or destroyed.
