Turkey reached out to settle relations with Syria and believes that this will contribute to the establishment of peace in the neighboring country. President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, expressing his hope that he will personally meet with his Syrian counterpart Bashar Assad.
"I still hope for Assad. I hope that we can come together and return the relations between Turkey and Syria to normal. We must destroy the terrorist organizations between Syria and Turkey. There is a basis for a just and lasting peace in Syria. The steps that need to be taken to ensure it are also obvious. We are not the ones who threaten the territorial integrity of Syria. The territorial integrity of Syria is threatened by terrorists, especially the Kurdistan Workers' Party terrorist organization. The territorial integrity of Syria is not threatened by Syrians scattered in many countries. Assad must realize this and take steps to create a new atmosphere in his country and protect his country," Erdogan told reporters after returning from Baku.
