Brazil will deploy 9,000 soldiers to the G20 summit, which will be held on November 18-19 in Rio de Janeiro, to ensure security. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of the countrywebsite.

The military will control sea and inland waters, ports, airspace, airport security and cyber threats.

President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva signed a corresponding decree.

Brazil assumed the presidency of the G20 on December 1, 2023. The final summit will take place in Rio de Janeiro on November 18-19.

Yesterday, Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador for Special Assignments Marat Berdiev announced that the Russian delegation to the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro will be headed by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
