Russia and India agreed to speed up the conclusion of an oil agreement

Russia, at a meeting of the intergovernmental commission, agreed with India to speed up the procedure for concluding an agreement on long-term oil supplies, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov told reporters. “We agreed today at a meeting of the intergovernmental commission to speed up the procedure for concluding such an intergovernmental agreement. This is in the interests of two countries,” he answered a question about plans to conclude a long-term agreement between the countries on the supply of oil. Manturov noted that such an agreement is necessary for a clearer understanding of the volumes and timing of product delivery. At the same time, Russia is currently focused on the supply of liquefied natural gas to India. “We are substantively discussing and focusing on the supply of liquefied natural gas,” Manturov concluded.
