“Arrest has been applied as a preventive measure to the head of Meghri community, who was arrested in connection with the criminal proceedings being investigated by the Anti-Corruption Committee on cases of unauthorized use of subsoil or natural resources, and giving and receiving bribes for that purpose,” the committee noted.
In addition to the head of the community, other persons are also being investigated in the same case. Euromedia24TV was also informed that arrest and house arrest have been applied as preventive measures to 6 more persons arrested within the framework of the same proceedings. On September 9, it became known that Meghri community head Khachatur Andreasyan had been arrested.
The committee also reported that 8 people were arrested within the framework of the criminal proceedings initiated by the RA Anti-Corruption Committee regarding cases of giving and receiving bribes, including the head of the Meghri community and the head of the Syunik regional subdivision of the Eco-Patrol Service.
