On August 26, a stabbing occurred in the Gegharkunik region. At around 01:10, information was received that a citizen who had been stabbed during an argument was brought to the Shatvan outpatient center for medical assistance with a diagnosis of a “cut-puncture, bleeding wound on the left half of the chest,” but was unable to say anything, and was transferred to the “Martuni” medical center.
As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, officers of the Vardenis police department determined that the injured person was 27-year-old Edward A., a resident of the Gegharkunik region.
As a result of the operational-investigative measures taken, operational data was obtained that on the same day, at around 00:30, at the beginning of the Shatvan-Norabak road, in a field adjacent to the road, 25-year-old Harut G., a resident of Gegharkunik region, argued with Edward A. over household issues, during which they exchanged insults and punched each other. At that time, Harut G. struck Edward A. once in the left half of the chest with a knife he had, causing the above-mentioned bodily injury.
According to the photojournalist, Harut G. was arrested on the basis of a direct suspicion of causing bodily injury and was taken to the Vardenis police department.
