During the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings in the Lori Regional Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, apparent factual data was obtained that Z.M., V.Kh. and S.Y., who are engaged in the sale and purchase of meat products, obtained fake veterinary certificates from V.B., who is engaged in illegal entrepreneurial activity, during 2022, according to which the cattle allegedly underwent a veterinary and sanitary examination at the slaughterhouse and were purchased from the same slaughterhouse, after which they used the fake certificates when selling the aforementioned meat products. The Investigative Committee reports this.
"By the decision of the supervising prosecutor, a public criminal prosecution was initiated against S.Y., V.Kh. and Z.M. under Part 1 of Article 457 of the Criminal Code (selling, preparing or using false documents).
Later, a decision was made not to initiate a public criminal prosecution against V.B. on the grounds of his death. A public criminal prosecution was initiated against the latter for selling, preparing, using false documents (10 counts) and engaging in illegal entrepreneurial activity (8 counts).
The criminal proceedings were sent to the supervising prosecutor with an indictment," the statement said.
