"Hraparak" newspaper writes:
"I have honor" and "Armenia" factions of the National Assembly took the initiative to convene an urgent session of the National Assembly next Tuesday.
The opposition demands that the National Assembly adopt a statement calling for the release of prisoners of war and hostages in Baku.
"As a result of Azerbaijani aggression and the forced displacement of Artsakh Armenians, many Armenian citizens of the Republic of Artsakh, people defending their home and homeland, including the military and political leadership of Artsakh, have been illegally held captive for more than 1 year.
Holding and torturing our compatriots in Baku prisons is not only a consequence of Azerbaijan's anti-Armenian policy, the manifestations of which do not stop to this day, but also an attempt to use human lives, freedom and dignity as a means of pressure in the current negotiation process.
In such conditions, according to the opposition, along with the holding of COP-29 in Baku, "the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia is obliged to express an attitude towards this inhumane and condemnable phenomenon according to international law, drawing the attention of the international community and expecting the use of the latter's influence, demanding Azerbaijan to immediately release the captured and hostage to the military-political leadership of Artsakh and all other Armenian prisoners".
According to our information, the CP does not want to issue such a statement, and this initiative will not be implemented."
