Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to replace the ambassador to the United States and appointed former deputy head of the Ministry of Education Yechiel Laiter to this post.
“I have decided to appoint Dr. Yechiel Laiter as Israel’s Ambassador to the United States,” Netanyahu wrote on social media.

It is noted that Laiter is a native of the United States and is well acquainted with the American administration and society. Previously, Netanyahu discussed by telephone with US President-elect Donald Trump the joint work in the security sphere of Israel and the Iranian threat.
