Great Britain reported a sharp increase in Russian naval activity near its shores, Express reports.
According to the British Ministry of Defence, the number of visits by Russian warships to British waters has increased by almost 30% over the past two years.
And over the past year, the Royal Navy has carried out 116 escort and surveillance missions against nearly 90 Russian warships, submarines and tankers belonging to the "shadow fleet".
Against this background, Great Britain has announced an investment of 1.5 billion pounds to strengthen its fleet and develop unmanned naval systems.
