American billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has stated that the world's largest economies are on the way to extinction due to low birth rates.
"In 21 of the 27 EU countries, the death rate exceeds the birth rate. They have been on the verge of extinction for a long time," Musk wrote on his social media page.
Musk was commenting on UN statistics published by the Financial Times on birth rates in the world's largest economies, namely France, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea and the United States, which show a decline in birth rates since the 1950s.
