According to Tatler, Samuel Chatto, a member of the British royal family and grandson of Princess Margaret, proposed marriage to Eleanor Exerjian.
Born into a family of prominent artists, she is the daughter of Professor David Exerjian, Distinguished Art Historian, Emeritus Professor of Art and Film History at the University of Leicester.
Like Samuel, Eleanor is also a graduate of the University of Edinburgh. Eleanor's grandfather was Colonel Nubar Martin Exerjian, whose family belonged to the Armenian nobility, the amirs, a class of influential wealthy Armenians in the Ottoman Empire. Colonel Ekserjian was the executive director of the Iraq Oil Company founded by Galust Gulbenkyan.
