The head of the IAEA will visit Iran for negotiations on the nuclear program

The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Raphael Grossi, said that he will soon be in Tehran, where he plans to discuss Iran's nuclear program with the authorities.

"In the coming days, I will be in Tehran, where talks are planned with the leadership to explain the not entirely clear aspects of the program, both in the past and in the current phase," he told La Stampain an interview with

"I still don't know Tehran's position, that's why these meetings are so important for me," Grossi said.

He reminded that he was last in Iran at the beginning of May, when he resumed contacts with President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Amir Abdollahian. During his current visit, he hopes to meet with President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Grossi also noted that it is necessary to understand the approach of the US Republican administration, which "always differed from the approach of the Joe Biden administration."
