Iran may face serious shortages of gas, electricity and gasoline due to the destruction of its energy infrastructure after the US and Israeli strikes, Esmail Sakkab Esfahani, vice president of energy sector optimization and strategic management, said.
"This year, the damage done to the country during the war, particularly to the gas system, made the situation even more complicated. A significant part of the country's electricity is produced from gas, so it is natural that we will face a greater imbalance this year," SNN quoted him as saying.
The vice-president called on the residents to give priority to energy saving, taking into account the created situation, so that the government is not forced to implement unpopular measures, in particular, periodic power cuts.
"If people start saving gas, electricity, gasoline and other energy resources now, it will be a great help to overcome the situation. Otherwise, the government will have to take stricter measures," he emphasized.
