Zhanna Andreasyan awarded the participants of the all-school science festival

"Talking about science with schoolchildren is an achievement. The ideas and projects we witnessed at the all-school science festival show that we are dealing with mature people who have their own thoughts and positions. The results inspire confidence that the correct processes are implemented in the education system. the environment where children are able to put forward their ideas and work on them has been formed. In that way, the support of schools is especially important, because the right guidance of teachers brings children to the desired result," said Minister of Education of the Republic of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan during the award ceremony of the participants of the Armenian All-School Science Festival held at Yerevan State University today.

YSU rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan was also present at the event.

KGS Minister Zhanna Andreasyan, welcoming the schoolchildren participating in the festival, emphasized that the All-School Science Festival is one of her favorite events.

According to the minister, the festival should be expanded to include a larger number and geography of schools, including a wider range of disciplines.

Zhanna Andreasyan wished success to the participants of the All-School Science Festival who got the opportunity to participate in the international festival to be held in Poland. He also thanked the festival's partner organizations, particularly the "Arpa" Institute, with which the festival was launched and held in cooperation. According to Zhanna Andreasyan, the ministry is open for cooperation in order to implement similar projects.

YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan emphasized that for the second year in a row YSU hosts the participants of the All-School Science Festival, who bring new ideas, expressing hope that many of them will become YSU students. "The projects presented at the School Science Festival are the visible results of educational reforms."

The goal of the Armenian All-School Science Festival, implemented by the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, the Science Committee of the RA KSMSN, is to instill interest in scientific research among school-aged youth, develop skills in group work, implementation of innovative projects and their presentation.

in 2024 about 80 projects were presented at the festival in the categories "Mathematics and Programming", "Physics and Astronomy", "Chemistry", "Biology", "Social Sciences".

in 2024 During the festival, 23 projects in 5 different categories were awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd class prizes, of which 3 projects: "Mathematics and Programming", 5 projects: "Physics and Astronomy", 4 projects: "Chemistry", 6 project in "Biology" and 5 projects in "Social Sciences" nominations. 12 projects were awarded an award, 3 projects were given the opportunity to participate in an international competition.

"Effect of melatonin and lipoic acid on cancer-causing cells" presented at the "Armenian All-School Science Festival-2024", A. Vanadzori "Heratsi" High School. The projects "Chitosan: Polymer of the Future" of Griboyedov High School No. 11 and "Heavy Metals in Water" of Yerevan "Ayb Educational Hub" Foundation were given the opportunity to participate in "EUCYS: The European Union Contest for Young Scientists", which will be held in Katowice, Poland on September 9-14.
