Two residential buildings collapsed in the central Fatih district of Istanbul, reports AHaber.
The reporter of the TV channel explained that the buildings were built close to each other, and the explosion in one of them caused a "domino effect", which led to the collapse of the neighboring building. The governor of Istanbul, Davut Gül, blamed the natural gas explosion for the incident.
"According to information, the explosion occurred due to natural gas. Nine people remained under the rubble. "Seven people were hospitalized, and one was taken to the hospital," he said.
